He previously founded a theatrical futurism conference about reimagining the world for the better and a creative agency dedicated to social impact. He once swam with an octopus attached to his shoulder for 3 hours in the Pacific Ocean, rescued someone from a Great White Shark attack in the Atlantic Ocean and placed 7th in the American Ninja Warrior semi-finals. His favorite bird is the Titmouse and his preferred form of exercise is climbing trees.

She's a former Major Donations Executive with XPrize, Scripps and the Venter Institute. She also started her own cooking school in San Diego. At DDC she leads the major gifts strategy, because some people's version of "$1" is pretty big!

That's John Zdanowski. He's really good at numbers. He wrote the world's first program to solve the Rubik's cube when we was 12 and held the pole vaulting record at his high school for 20 years. He was previously the CFO of Second Life, the world's largest virtual world (with the largest virtual economy on the planet), and General Assembly (acquired in 2018). He's been married for 24 years and is a philoso-father-gizer to 4 children and 37 animals on their farm in San Diego. The miniature cows are absurdly cute.

She's been bitten by the world's most venomous caterpillar, bungee jumped off hot air balloons, boogie boarded with Piranhas in the Amazon river, and dodged exploding lava from an erupting volcano. When she's not identifying and vetting DDC's planetary solutions, Brooke is wandering barefoot with binoculars or floating upside down to peek under the coral head. She loves noodles, dancing and climbing trees.

Christopher Verlinden Ph.D.

Christopher is a Ph.D. in Oceanography and an expert in geospatial information systems, remote sensing, environmental response planning, and ocean acoustics, including novel sonar techniques and methods. At 9 years old, Felix Finkbeiner, inspired by the story of Kenyan politician and environmental activist Wangari Maathai, developed the idea that children could promote climate justice by planting a million trees in every country. With the support of children from over 100 countries, Felix launched the youth initiative Plant-for-the-Planet in 2007. So far, more than 91,000 youth in 76 countries have been trained in Plant-for-the-Planet Academies. As Climate Justice Ambassadors, the children give speeches to adults and fight for their future. Christopher is a Ph.D. in Oceanography and an expert in geospatial information systems, remote sensing, environmental response planning, and ocean acoustics, including novel sonar techniques and methods. He was a professor of marine science and geospatial science at the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut. He managed joint government research initiatives with the U.S. Navy, NOAA, and NGA (National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency) and also taught seamanship and navigation aboard the Academy’s coastal sail training vessels.

Sagar Aryal (25) has been an active member of the children’s and youth initiative Plant-for-the-Planet since 2012. As a Climate Justice Ambassador he has a goal: to save his future. Together with 91.000 children and youth from 76 countries he inspires people around the globe to plant a trillion trees to buy us time to mitigate the climate crisis. Sagar grew from a child to a young adult taking his future in his own hands: Since 2018 he develops the Plant-for-the-Planet platform as the initiative’s CTO. The app allows donors and tree planting organizations to get connected, so everyone can plant trees worldwide with just a few clicks.

Felix Finkbeiner

At 9 years old, Felix Finkbeiner, inspired by the story of Kenyan politician and environmental activist Wangari Maathai, developed the idea that children could promote climate justice by planting a million trees in every country. With the support of children from over 100 countries, Felix launched the youth initiative Plant-for-the-Planet in 2007. So far, more than 91,000 youth in 76 countries have been trained in Plant-for-the-Planet Academies. As Climate Justice Ambassadors, the children give speeches to adults and fight for their future. How it all started...

In 2016 Futurist & Producer Seth Blaustein created a video that garnered 28 milllion views and raised $900,000 for charity. Ever since then he wondered: "What if we had asked all of those viewers for just $1 and made it really easy to give?".

Then, in late 2019 Seth was producing a conference when a speakerʼs laptop was accidentally run over by a car. Seth created a QR code and made a short announcement on stage that if everyone donated just $1 we could buy her a new laptop.

Within an hour over $1,200 was raised and a new and better laptop was purchased without any financial burden on those who donated.

Seth was convinced that micro-donations at a larger scale could be a powerful tool for accomplishing BIG goals for all of humanity.

Dollar Donation Club was born to harness the full potential of micro-giving at scale!
